Favourites Playlist - Autumn ‘26

Hiii !

It’s that time again, still can’t believe how fast this year is moving!

This past season, I’ve leaned on music even more than I usually do. I’ve used it almost like a friend - something to share memories with, to open my heart to, and to find pieces of myself in. Music has held me through moments of fear, loneliness, and uncertainty, and it has been there just as much for the moments of happiness, gratitude, celebration, love, and laughter. It truly has been my rock.

Alright let’s jump into what we have in this playlist!

The playlist starts off on a pretty feminine note, with songs from Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions, Sinéad O’Connor, and plenty of PJ Harvey. PJ Harvey has somehow found her way back into my daily rotation after a long absence. I’m not quite sure why I ever stopped listening to her - I absolutely bloody love her.

From there, we move into a bit of Pink Floyd, who are always in regular rotation for me. This season I’ve been especially drawn to The Division Bell and The Final Cut. I’m constantly amazed by the creativity, uniqueness, and layers within their music. Every listen seems to reveal something new.

Then we drift into classics from Grateful Dead and Dire Straits — artists that have always been, and always will be, favourites of mine.

After that, things get a little grungier. There are a few songs from what I think is my all-time favourite vocalist, Chris Cornell, followed by the entire Sap EP from Alice in Chains — one of my favourite EPs ever made. There’s more from Soundgarden, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal (big, big fan !!!), Mark Lanegan, and of course, Pearl Jam.

There are also a few scragglers from artists I’m only just beginning to explore.

The playlist finishes with songs from Any Other City by Life Without Buildings, an album I’ve loved for about five years now. I adore the contrast throughout it — feminine yet gritty, delicate yet punky.

To close things out, there are a handful of Sade songs. Sade has always been a favourite of mine. There’s something about the femininity, soul, and warmth in her music that does wonderful things for my brain.

My standouts:

• “Just Like You Said It Would B” — Sinéad O’Connor
• “Send His Love To Me” — PJ Harvey
• “Wot’s… Uh the Deal” — Pink Floyd
• “They Love Each Other (Live at Barton Hall)” — Grateful Dead
• “Fade to Black” — Dire Straits
• “Thank You (Live)” — Chris Cornell
• “Right Turn” — Alice in Chains
• “Little Sister” — Queens of the Stone Age
• “Porch (MTV Unplugged)” — Pearl Jam
• “Engaña” — Gustavo Cerati
• “Blue Motel Room” — Joni Mitchell
• “PS Exclusive” — Life Without Buildings
• “I Have a Woman Inside My Soul” — Yoko Ono
• “Nothing Can Come Between Us” — Sade

Enjoy, enjoy!
